Auxiliaries – Reducing Agents
Sulfur dyes are naturally insoluble in water. To enable dyeing, they must first be converted into their soluble leuco form using a reducing agent (antioxidant). Once applied to cellulose-based materials, oxidation restores the dye to its original water-insoluble state, ensuring excellent wash fastness.
Bhagwati Chemical's partially reduced Sulphol Liquid dyes require a carefully controlled amount of reducing agent for optimal performance. We provide two main categories of reducing agents:
Inorganic Reducing Agents
- Sulfad 70
- Sulfad A-79
Organic Reducing Agents
- Reddex 92
- Antibronze – A water-based organic solution used alongside Sulfad 70 or Sulfad A-79 to prevent bronzy dyeing, which may occur due to premature oxidation of sulfur dyes.

Safety Precautions
In case of fire, use sand or fire extinguisher with abundant quantities of water to dissolve the powder and dissipate heat. When possible, product should be spread out before water is used. In case of contact with eyes and/or skin, flush thoroughly with water. Water in large quantity is the only effective extinguishing agent for Sulphur Black fire.
